Everyday use of English

All levels are welcome
from absolute beginners to fluent speakers.
Our teachers are creative and innovative and lessons are never dull. The right balance between the oral and the written word is found according to the level of the group. Small teaching groups mean that each and every student can be given generous individual attention.
Responsibility for the overall conduct and co-ordination of the language classes lies with the Director of Studies who ensures that the teaching programme runs smoothly and effectively. Students on the Summer Course always say how much they enjoy their classes and how much they learn during their stay. Naturally, the achievement of children varies according to their age, ability and length of stay. Upon arrival students are assessed and allocated to a teaching group suited to their grasp of English. During the course they are re-assessed and when progress is made students are moved to more advanced teaching groups. Over the years the school has found that even those who come as absolute beginners (with virtually no knowledge of the language) leave with the ability to speak and write basic English. Those who have already studied English at school in their own countries develop a finer grasp of the English language as it is used by native speakers. Everyone develops in confidence and learns above all how to understand and use everyday English in everyday situations

Project Lesson
The highlight of the classroom learning for many students is the daily project lesson, which is designed to enhance spontaneous learning. Students will work together in their class to produce short films, plays, songs or business pitches. These are then presented as a class in front of the school at the end of the week.

Reports
Meetings are held daily with teaching staff so that the progress and needs of every student may be discussed. Students have two different teachers, who will assess their progress throughout the week and at the end of every week the students’ teachers write up a report to inform them about their satisfaction and advise them on the areas of improvement. These reports are included in the students’ class books. Upon departure these books are handed over to the students to take home. This gives parents the opportunity to have a look at what their children have done in class during their stay.
