Hurtwood House Summer School

We give the students the brightest, busiest and best holiday of their lives. After a morning in the classroom, followed by lunch, students enjoy the contrast of a physically active afternoon.

A wide variety of sport is on offer and children can enjoy, amongst other sports, football, tennis, horse riding, basketball, volleyball, hockey, squash, laser war games, boating on the river, ice skating, dry skiing, go-karting, table tennis, swimming, ten pin bowling and so much more you would not believe it! Our teaching staff have been chosen not only for their academic ability but also for their versatility, and between them they expertly coach every sport we play.

There is also a sports master who is responsible for the Sports programme and for arranging regular competitions. For those who favour less energetic pastimes, other activities are always available.

Hurtwood House is surrounded by a very large and beautiful campus. The essentials are available on site to ensure that the course is successful and popular. In addition, as part of their experience of England, we arrange a number of outings for the students, all of which are carefully planned and supervised. There are regular shopping trips to Guildford. Famous houses and museums are visited, and the highlight of every week is the excursion to London. What other Summer School offers a weekly, all expenses paid, trip to the capital? Students are driven to London by staff in our own well-maintained fleet of mini buses. Depending on their interests students may shop or choose from a list of alternatives which includes Madame Tussaud's, The Natural History Museum, Covent Garden, The Royal Academy and many others. An early dinner is followed by a recently released film or a theatre in the heart of the West End.

It doesn't matter whether it is a trip to the local shops or to London, parents can rest assured that their children will be safe as they are always under the supervision and care of responsible staff.

We had something exciting and different to do every day.
